We are Thankful for your Donations

Dear Valued Member of the Community, 

We sincerely hope that this letter finds you well in the Lord. Because you are an important part of our family, we wanted to reach out to inform you of the great things going on here at First Haitian Church of God. As you may already know, this church has grown into an integral place of worship and fellowship for its faithful members, encouraging oneness with God and one another. However, in living up to our name, we carry out our work beyond our four walls and therefore strive to be a pillar of Hope and a place of Acceptance in the community as we build one another up. 

This past May we celebrated our 32nd anniversary at our location accompanied by family and friends from other churches in the surrounding community. We had a remarkable turn out; in fact, we were not able to accommodate all of our guests due to our lack of space. The Haitian community in Houston is growing, and just like any growing family, the more members you have, the more room you need. Therefore we are determined, now more than ever, to build a new church home; one that will not only accommodate our needs as a church, but also as a community. 

Over the years an ongoing issue has been that the Haitian Community in Houston does not have a location of our own that is suitable to accommodate our growing church and community as a whole. We do not have a suitable place celebrate our blessings such as weddings and anniversaries; no place to come together as one to honor those who have passed, or a place to adequately conduct community outreach programs such as food drives and community development programs. 

The plan is to have a sanctuary large enough to welcome all for worship and fellowship, and a separate section to host some of these gatherings and community outreach efforts. This is the vision we have for this new church building, and we are pleased to invite you to be a part of this process. 

This Major project will launch August 2018 and be budgeted yearly. This year’s intake goal (from August 2018 to August 2019) is $100,000. By the grace of God, prayer and with your sacrifice we are certain we will reach this goal; and we will be sure to keep you updated on the progress quarterly via mail/email and on our website. 

In support of this project to build a new church building we are asking for your donations. Aside from monetary donations we have planned a few fundraising events in the upcoming months to reach our financial goals; and we’ll be sure to inform you as they come up.
